These days more and more of us are putting in longer shifts than the traditional eight hours a day. While blood, sweat and tears is a financial necessity for some, others feel taking on overtime is the only way to get into their bosses’ good books. However, perhaps we would clock off on time if we genuinely knew how working too hard could affect our health.

When growing up we’re often told that hard work is the key to success. Yes, we learn that nothing comes without it, whether that be money, power or influence. But perhaps focusing too much on our careers is actually a double-edged sword. And on the flip side is a lifestyle that is potentially harmful to our health.
