Some believe that the White House was built entirely by slaves. And it would indeed be a bitter irony if the White House – home to every president since its construction and a symbol of the land of the free – had been erected by enslaved peoples. But although there is some truth at the heart of this myth, it is nevertheless a touch inaccurate.
